A load-optimised Design takes into account requirements associated with the Strength of materials, Material engineering and the principles of Force transmission. In doing so, the design must ensure that load is distributed as evenly as possible between components and system parts, which should also be utilised to their full capacity, as far as possible.
This high and balanced level of utilisation is also known as the principle of uniform stress or load distribution. It is always applied, unless there are economic reasons not to do so.
The term 'utilisation' refers to the ratio between the calculated and permissible load.
